There is good reason this post is coming a week 1/2 late. Still not quite over my bitterness, I post this for Logan's memory sake, even though I would be just fine forgetting it!
The night before the big day, I woke in a nervous sweat..."something is going to happen." Good or bad I wasn't sure yet. After re-assuring myself and mentally going over the check list in my head...
balloons... check
plates/cups/napkins/forks... check
cake/dessert... check
What was it???????
Only to wake up to a poor sick, sick, sick little boy. I knew the moment I heard that sad little cry coming from his crib that this day was going to be a total DISASTER! He had a 101 degree fever. We spent the morning at the doctor's, come to find out he had a horrible ear infection! So we got him on his antibiotic, and I prayed that he would be feeling better by the time his party started. This was his burning up face.

Then we get to the cake...DISASTER!
I stayed up until 1:00am the night before decorating his cake and frosting cup cakes.
The first cake was perfect, except that by that morning the frosting was hard as rock, awesome I know! So I had to pull another cake out my...well you can imagine. After cutting off the rock hard frosting I dug through the cupboard and found frosting in a can. With relief I begin frosting the cake for the second time. Too bad the frosting was so oily (I don't recommend western family frosting for cakes! cupcakes are great though!) The frosting slid right off, so by the party the cake looked like it had been melted and run over by a wagon! It might as well have because Logan cried the WHOLE party and didn't even touch his cake. Into the trash it went, where it belonged!

Then to top everything off, our party was cut short as we were kicked out of the clubhouse by the wicked witch of the 'south' and her evil little dog too! I went to bed that night going over a much different check list in my head:
Ruined cake...check
Sick and sad baby...check
Loving family and friends...check
Total party disaster....not check,
Even though the majority of the day was a complete bomb. I want to thank all our family and friends that came out despite everything and celebrated with us. It really meant a lot!
So I am calling a PARTY Re-Do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that Logan is feeling MuCh better, we are going to celebrate all over again, and just pretend that day never happened!

Logan LOVES pushing stuff around the house, standing and crawling. It's been fun watching him venture out and try new things!
I love you, my little love bug!
Thanks for being our sweet little guy!

Birthday Re-Do pictures to come soon!
