Marriage is not a noun; it's a verb. It isn't something you get. It's something you do. It's the way you love your partner every day. -Ann Landers

Cabo San Lucas

Last week we went to Cabo San Lucas with most of the Welch family. It was an adults only trip and we had the time of our lives. After the long flight and layovers we finally arrived, and the party began. We spent everyday on the beach, eating chips and salsa and drinking pina colada's or my favorite Miami Vice (1/2 pina colada and 1/2 Strawberry Daiquiri...virgin of course) Alberto quickly became my best friend, he was the guy that brought me my food and drinks at the beach everyday...I love happy hour.
We had so much fun in the sun with everyone.
The only down side what that little London decided to make her appearance while we were all playing in Mexico. At least she gave us all an excited reason to come home.

We went snorkeling, jet skiing, kayaking, swimming, got stung by little jelly fish, sailing, dancing, played tennis, went to the spa, played ultimate Frisbee, met interesting people, and so much more.
Thanks everyone for the wonderful vacation, it was truly needed and time well spent!

And the fun continues...

So this year just like the two years before we hosted our annual Halloween party. I must say that the funness has finally caught on...if you actually dress up it makes the party more fun :)

So this year we had great turn out, and tonz of fabulous costumes. Here's just a peek at who was there:

Little Red Ridding hood, and the Big Bad Wolf were there: Chris and Shianne Dredge won this year's "Best Costume" award.
Also there from left to right we had a couple from Mexico (Lauren and Tyler Hicks), Me and Andy, A flower and bumble bee (Rachel and Wesley), A Chinese couple, A polygamist couple (Brett and Lisa Healey), Little Red Ridding hood and the wolf, and a couple of Nerds.

Here we have my parents... they dressed up as grandparents...get it hahaha. Us and Wes and Rachel.

We played tonz of games, and were exhausted by the end of the night!

Thanks to everyone who came, until next time....

Halloween Family Bash

Every year we look (or I look) forward to the annual Welch Family Halloween Bash ( I just named it that) We ALWAYS have so much fun, and so many laughs that it makes the party the year before seem lame. Here's a quick glimps of the awesome costumes...

Quirks

My cousins cute wife tagged me for this one and I just had to laugh. As I was reading about her quirks and giggling, I thought 'gee I have so many what would I say..' then I saw at the bottom of hers that she tagged me...thanks Catherine :)

So here are the rules...Tell 6 unspectacular quirks of yourself and tag 6 fellow bloggers. Here we go:

1) I HATE waking up in the mornings, every morning after I turn off my alarm clock I say: "Ugh I hate waking up." Andy just laughs every time, and says "I know you do, good morning." Then I just glare at him for being so happy and bouncy right when he wakes up.

2) I have to plan everything in advance, it does not matter what it is or what's going on. It has to be planned. I don't 'go with the flow' very well, unless I've planned time for the flow. Andy has learned this the hard way, I've really tried to get better but recently I think it's gotten worse. I hate when plans change, and stress when things don't go according to plan. I know welcome to life.

3) I love the rain, and cold weather. I love the cool air as it slaps you in face and how it hurts your lungs if you breath in too quickly. I would much rather be cold than hot, I hate being hot! I usually don't wear a coat in the winter because I love to feel the freezing cold through my clothes.

4) I have weekly rules for my hair. Only twice a week can I wear it straight, twice wear it curly, and the other three days I can pull it back. I've been like that since junior high and I guess it just sort of stuck.

5) I am a locked door freak. I have to have the doors locked at all times, when I get home shut the door and lock it. When I get in my car first I do is lock the doors. I have to double and sometimes triple check the doors before I go to bed to make sure that all the doors are locked and dead bolted. Then when I'm ready for bed I lock our bedroom door. Andy's been 'locked out' on accident a few times. You can never have too many locks!

6) Lastly, I worry way too much. I think that the worst possible thing could happen all the time. If I can't get a hold of Andy on his cell phone, Reality: the batteries probably dead, or he's just really busy. My world: He's lying dead in the road somewhere. It's almost ridiculous, I've loosened up a lot since I've been married. It used to be so much worse.

Okay so wow if you read all that...
I tag: Megan Anderson, Lisa Healey, Andrea Griggs, Rachel Stuker, and Heidi Wing.

Excitment

What are little BOYS made of?
Snips and snails and puppy dogs' tails
That's what little boys are made of!

If you didn't guess it, we just found out yesterday that we are indeed having a little boy. We couldn't be more excited, Andy was certain that it was a girl. I knew all along that it was a boy. I always wanted to have a little boy first, and I got my wish!!!
March 2nd feels like a lifetime to have to wait but, I know time will fly on by!

Isn't she lovely

My beautiful sister went to Brighton's Homecoming this past weekend. She caught a cold the Friday before the dance, so for as yucky as she felt, she still pulled off looking great!

Her date's name was Josh he's a good buddy of hers, they had a blast!

Here's what gets me...when I was going to my Jr. Homecoming she had just turned seven (and it still feels like only yesterday), now she just went to her Jr. Homecoming so where does that leave me????

Feeling REALLY old...that's where I'm at!

Halloween Practice

So for those of you who know me, must know how much I LOVE Halloween! It is my favorite holiday, I love dressing up and planning and attending fun Halloween parties. In fact I love it so much I decided last year that our dog must participate in the fun festivities. So I bought him a costume too...he HATED it, after struggling for several minutes to get the costume on him. It was torn off in seconds making me very frustrated. He must get that from Andy, every year Andy has his costume off as soon as we take pictures...I just don't get it!

Oakley 'loved' his costume so much that he actually drug it outside last year and tried to bury it in the backyard. Digging up our newly planted grass. At least Andy hasn't tried to bury any of his costumes...yet. Well not one to give up easily I decided that he just needed to 'practice' wearing his costume so that by the time Halloween comes he will have no problem wearing his costume...

I was very proud of him, he wore it for almost 5 minutes. It was a great accomplishment, after a week of practicing he now keeps it on for a good 30 minutes. That's all I can ask for anyway. So now that this little experiment has seemed to go pretty well, Andy will be next. I'm going to get his costume this week and we will 'practice' wearing it. I figure if a dog can do it so can he!!!
Wish me luck!

Labor DAY

Wow so Labor day was a week ago, and I'm way behind on my blogging..last week just got away from me. So here's a quick re-cap of our fun filled weekend...

We started off by heading up to our family cabin on Saturday, then finishing off the night by going to a Rodeo...that was so much fun!

Sunday we relaxed and drove up to Smith and Moorehouse so that Andy could throw rocks in the lake...yes he really wanted to do this BADLY!

We drove home that night and got up early Monday to start off our 'no work' Monday. After a quick trip to the mall in search of the perfect Halloween costume we met up with Andy's family for a fun afternoon at Classic Skating...I know sounds a little ghetto but it was a blast!

Andy zipped around with Bo on his skates...

While Marcus soared around with Nash on the scooter...

Us pregnant ladies had to sit out, but we had a great time talking! I love talking with Heidi, she always knows how to make me laugh!!!

Finishing up the day with the "Chicken Dance!"
Then we met up with everyone at Olive Garden for some much needed dinner.
It was a great day! I was so tired by the time I got home, I feel asleep on the couch within seconds of sitting down.

High School TAG!!!

So I was a little unsure if I wanted to do this TAG or not, diving back into the past brings up funny memories but also some that I've spent years trying to burry...but I figured whatever it might be fun, so we'll see, don't laugh too hard!!!

*Your High School's full name: Brighton High School
*High School Colors: Blue and Orange
*School Mascot: Bengal
*Did you date anyone from your school? Yes, and it was fine. My only bad break up was three weeks before graduation so I was too busy to let it bug me.
*What kind of car did you drive: Sophmore and Junior year: A purple 1993 mini-van (which is why I will NEVER drive one again)
My Senior year I drove a blue 2000 Honda Civic
*It's Friday night where are you: Sitting at my friend Jonathan's house watching the guys work on their cars...it seemed really exciting back then...
*Were you a party animal: Nope, we never really went to parties just always had a good time.
*Were you considered a flirt: Umm yeah you could say that, wasn't every girl?
*Were you in band, orchestra, choir, or other group: I was in choir my sophmore year
*Were you in any clubs: FBLA and ASL (sign language)
*Did you ever get expelled or suspended: Of course not
*Can you still sing the fight song: We had a fight song???
*Who were your favorite teachers: Great question...if I could remember any of them I would list all my favorites...I guess Buffy my biology teacher
*Where did you sit during lunch: We went out every day for lunch, except that one day we stayed at school and TJ launched a meatball at Nina and hit her in the face. That was hysterical!!!
*Who did you go to Homecoming with: Junior year: Austin Smith
Senior year: Brian Swan
*If you could go back and re-do high school would you: If I could go back I would only go if I could change things, meaning that I would remember what it was like the first time and this time do it differently. I don't have many regrets, but there are a few things that I would like to see how they would have ended up had things been different. But what's done is done, and life after high school was so much better!!!
*What do you remember about Graduation: It was the longest day of my LIFE!!! It was so hard to just sit there waiting for them to call your name...my ex-boyfriend was staring holes in the back of my head. I didn't throw my cap, I wanted to keep it.
*Have you gained weight since then: I actually lost weight since then, but now that I'm expecting of course I've gained like 50 pounds since then...love it, I'm bringing CHUBBY back now!
*Do you plan on going to your 10 year reunion: Why? I was so happy the day of graduation because I would never have to see half of those people again! Why would I want to now?
*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*....*.....*....*....*
I TAG: Ashley, Laura, Heidi, Rachel (or you could Wes do it he LOVED High School I know) EVERYONE that wants to do this...it's pretty painless! Have fun!!!!!

SUPRISE!!!!!

My cousin threw a surprise birthday party for my grandma this past weekend. She never had a surprise birthday party before, so this was a special treat for her. We all hid under the deck and jumped out and yelled surprise!!!

She was so surprised and so happy she started crying. It was a really fun party.

Good food, good company, good times!!! She never misses a birthday, anniversary, or holiday. She always has a smile on her face, and is hysterical she says the funniest things! Some of you have heard this story before, but I'll tell it again.
When I was first dating Andy she asked me what made him more special than any other guy I had dated before...I thought hard about this (because there were so many things to choose from) and decided on the fact that he was a 'quad' As I say this, she scrunches up her face and pats me on the back and says, "You are a sweetheart aren't you." After a few minutes of silence she turns to me and says, "So, umm...does he let you push him around?" With concern all over her face, I think hard and answer, "Yeah I guess I can be kind of bossy sometimes." Again her face scrunches up and she says, "Well isn't he a quadriplegic?" This time I scrunch my face up and say, "No 'quad' as in quadruplet, his mom had four babies." We both laughed and laughed over this until we were crying. So the first time Andy went to meet her, we were going to put him in a wheel chair as a joke...but couldn't find one. I love my grandma!

Should have been a Cowboy!

It was so much fun the other night, Trent, Laura, and Cole are in town (YEAH!!!)
So for some fun entertainment, Travis and Tenille took all of us horseback riding. It was so much fun to watch Cole interact with these huge horses. He kept wanting to pet them...it was so cute!

Andy acted like he had been riding horses forever...
Me on the other hand, I hadn't ridden a horse since 3rd grade. I was terrified!

Is there anything that he doesn't look good doing????

This is the only picture that he and I took on the horse...I think it's funny!

Even Grandma Jo came with us and had a great time!

Towards the end of the night Cole felt comfortable enough to give it a try. He climed up on that horse with Trent like a champ and smiled the whole way!

This video is of cowboy Cole...his first rodeo (well horse ride anyway)
Sorry about the sun in the background!

Thanks Travis and Tenille for the fun night!!!

Suprises and Sweet 16

So let me first start out by saying what a good sport my sister is. Some of the things that I make her do...I know she doesn't enjoy but for my entertainment, and to make me happy she does them. We threw her a surprise 16th birthday party this weekend. Filled with tons of friends, a Piñata, cake and hot dogs. Honestly what could be better? So Andy and I blind folded her, and told her that we were going out to a new restaurant...little did she know.
After several minutes of driving around we ended up at my parents place....
It was so fun to see everyone that showed up for the party! (Needless to say there were several more guys compared to the gals...)

Even my best friend from elementary school came. She and I became friends the summer after Jac was born....man I feel old!

This is her husband and youngest daughter picking up candy from the Piñata, oddly enough the high school kids weren't that interested in the candy...

We had a Hawaiian theme, my favorite part was the cake!

After the party we had a few of her friends sleep-over at our place, where they played games and talked to boys (on the phone) until 4AM. Andy and I went to bed at 11:00...again I feel old!

It was a wonderful time, I had fun at least. She was really surprised and loved every minute of it!
Love you Sis!

TAGGGGGGGGGGGG

Tagged again...so this one is hard because I hate talking about myself, so I'm sorry if this bores any of you!

3 JOYS:

*Andy, I love spending every small minute with him. He makes me laugh, he makes me smile, he makes me happier than I ever dreamed I could be. He always gets me up and going on some crazy adventure. Life with him is never boring!

*My family, we are both blessed to have such amazing families. I love being a part of a huge family that is so opposite of my own family. It makes my life exciting because I never know what I'm going to get.

*Also I would have to say the gospel, for the strength and courage that it has always given me.

3 FEARS:
*Okay this also would have to say Andy, I get really scared that he will do something a little too crazy and it will end up in disaster. I tell him all the time that I HAVE to die before he does, because I seriously don't want to live without him.

*Spiders, honestly do they have to have so many legs? It's gross, you can't manage to smash one without a leg or two falling off. So not only to you have to pick up their remains, but then go back and get the legs. Not a big fan!

*A major disaster, I know that they say "if you are prepared you shall not fear," but come on that is just frightening! When you don't know where your loved ones are or how to get in contact with them...yeah like I said SCARY!!!!

3 GOALS: *To finally graduate with a degree...nuff said! That takes up all three of my goals.

3 OBSESSIONS: *As I mentioned before the Twilight Series (Breaking Dawn comes out August 2nd. Twilight the movie comes out December 12th...anyone want to go with me?)

*Sleeping with a fan turned on, and Scentsy stuff

*My date nights with Andy (so back off)

3 RANDOM FACTS: *I HATE filling my car up with gas, it is such a waste of time, and makes me depressed to see how much money I'm spending.

*I hate being embarrassed, breaking any rules, or doing anything where I might get hurt. I have a very low tolerance for whining.

*When I get mad I get really mad, but get over it quickly. I sometimes like to argue just to argue. I like to dance when no one is watching!

I tag: Heidi, Laura, Megan Andersen, Alison Lacey

Summer Suprise

On Father's Day as we were making the rounds...over at my parents house. My cute mom showed me a discovery she had made earlier in the week. Sitting up on a ledge by the front door there's a flower pot that has recently been an attraction for a few birds. Not really thinking anything of it she pulled the pot down and found the sweetest surprise inside....

Five baby birds, they are so cute! Their eyes were open and they were looking around not making any sounds. But you could see them breathing. So after a few quick pictures we put the pot back in fear of getting attacked by the mother. So far so good, aren't they the cutest little babies ever? Seeing them reminded me of my favorite Primary song, and yes I still remember all the words. I love this song because it reminds me of things that I love so much. Since I'm currently humming it, I'll share it with you...

Whenever I hear the song of a bird
or look at the blue, blue sky.
Whenever I feel the rain on my face

or the wind as it rushes by.
Whenever I touch a velvet rose

or walk by our lilac tree.
I'm glad that I live in this beautiful world,

Heavenly Father created for me.

He gave me my eyes that I might see

the color of butterfly wings.
He gave me my ears that I might hear

the magical sound of things.
He gave me my life, my mind, my heart,

I thank him revrently.
For all his creations, of which I'm a part.

Yes, I know Heavenly Father loves me!

Happy Summer everyone!!!

Soccer Sunday

Sunday just wouldn't quite be a Sunday without a typical outdoor activity at the Welch's. Last Sunday, soccer was the chosen activity. It's always a great time to be with the family and get to know each other a little better. There's nothing better than a little competitiveness to bring a smilea and laughing to everyone's face! Great goal Chelsea!!!

And of course the battle wounds are typical.
You are NOT having fun unless someone gets hurt!

(9 times out of 10 that person is Andy.) Good job stopping the ball though, it almost didn't go in!
But I guess almost doesn't count...

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my Dad's birthday, we celebrated over the weekend with an excellent BBQ, presents, and a yummy cake (if I do say so myself) Oreo Chocolate...

Our little joke is that I gave him all his grey hairs...yeah right, he hasn't seen anything yet. With Jaclyn I expect a full head of white hair by the time she graduates. He had it easy with me!
My Dad is the greatest Dad ever, thanks for all you. Hope you have a great day you totally deserve it. I love you!
