Marriage is not a noun; it's a verb. It isn't something you get. It's something you do. It's the way you love your partner every day. -Ann Landers

Hide Ride What?!?

We had a awesome weekend. Totally crazy, much like life is during the summer. We went to the Draper Days Rodeo Saturday night with most the Welch family.
My two cowboys
Logan wasn't SO happy to be there, he enjoyed the Oakley Rodeo a little more I think. Or at least he slept through it.
Jaclyn came with her two friends, Kara and Paige. They are such cute gals!
Kenedy, Natalie, Chad and Logan. We love Nat and Chad, they always bring smiles wherever they go. Parties start once they get there. I love them, they always make me happy!
So here's the story: (Short version) 2 years ago
Andy: I want to ride the hide
Me: I'm sorry you want to ride what?
Andy: You know, the hide ride. I want to do that someday before I die.
Well, honey that day finally came Saturday night. Travis got them signed up and he pulled Andy through the dirt...
To those of you who don't know what the hide ride is let me explain.
You have your rider at one end of the arena (Travis) he has a hide tied to a rope and rides down to the opposite end around a barrel, where the hide rider stands waiting (Andy). Once Travis rounds the barrel Andy has to jump on the hide, hold onto the rope while he is drug though the dirt to the starting end of the arena. The fastest time wins.
I guess now he can die a happy man!?!?!
They were so close to winning...only losing by 2 tenths of a second. Their time was 14.00 and the winning time was 13.8 seconds. Better luck next year. I have a killer video of it if I can ever figure out how to post videos, I'll put it up here. I dare anyone to watch it without laughing.
When we got home, Andy made me watch the video with him about a dozen times before we could go to bed. He was so excited about it and had so much fun! Thanks again Travis, all this was possible because of you!!! You are the best, we love you!

4th of July Weekend

I don't know what it is about holiday weekends but they are so much better than just normal weekends! We had a blast, we spent time up in Oakley at my families cabin just outside of the little town. It was just what the doctor ordered!
Wes, Rachel, and Zurik headed up there with us on Thursday night.

Best buddies, Zurik and Logan

Kings of the mountains.

Friday morning we slept in, and headed over to the tennis courts. Where a mean round of tennis was played...for about 5 hours. Yes, 5 hours we played, and felt it the next day.

On Saturday afternoon my parents came up and that night and we went to the Oakley Rodeo. We've been doing that in my family for the last 12 years. It's something that I look forward to every year. We always have so much fun.

Logan's first time seeing them rope and ride...

Our seats were phenomenal! Way to go babe!

It was beautiful up there, I was so happy that it didn't rain. Logan loved all the action!

Rachel and Zurik

Jaclyn and her friend Paige, they are so giggly silly.

Logan and Nana

The Two Studly's

We played so hard over the weekend, Sunday night I needed a vacation to recover from our vacation! We had a blast, played hard, ate way to much, had awesome company...the weekend was a success. We can't wait until next year to do it all over again.

4 Months

Today Logan is 4 months and growing...
He still is such a happy and good little guy. It's been so much fun to watch him discover new things and become more aware of the world around him. I love spending time with him, and can never quite get enough. Here's what's going on in his life at 4 months:

Logan has started giggling, I don't know what it is but he thinks that Oakley is hysterical. It makes me kind of jealous that our dog gets all the good giggles out of him instead of me. Logan watches Oakley run all over the place and loves it.

Logan also is not a fan of sitting. If he has his choice he will stand until his legs can't hold him up any longer. Then he'll sit and rest for a little bit, and stand right back up again.

Logan also LOVES his tummy time. He will lay there until I flip him back over. It's been so fun to watch him getting stronger and stronger each day. He holds his head up a little more each time, and does so with a big smile. Oakley's always right there making sure that everything is okay.
Logan also LOVES swimming, we recently spent the weekend at this awesome resort in Las Vegas with some friends. Where Logan went swimming for the first time. Every time we'd take him out of the water he would grunt until we put him back in. He's so cute!

Logan, we love you so much and are so proud to be your parents. We can't wait for everything that is yet to come.
We love you!

Down on the farm

So each Friday I try really hard to find some fun things to do, I've named this day "Fun Day Friday". Since I have the day off of work, I hate sitting home doing things that I should do. It's much more fun to be out and play. Rachel, Jac, my mom, Zurik, Logan and I all went to Wheeler Farm for one "Fun Day Friday"

Jac was scared of this little guy. She wouldn't dare get any closer.

Logan slept almost the whole time. He wasn't sure what to think when he woke up, with all these smelly animals around.
Zurik on the other hand, he pretty much had a smile the whole time. Even when he fell asleep.
Down on the Farm
Jac by the baby calf. There were so many animals and a few baby ones, they were all so cute.

We had a great time, until it started to rain. Then it was a mad dash back to the car!

If anyone has any other "Fun day" ideas please leave me a comment and let me know. I'm afraid there are a lot more "Fun Friday's" than I have activities for....
