Marriage is not a noun; it's a verb. It isn't something you get. It's something you do. It's the way you love your partner every day. -Ann Landers

Tu-LiPs

I write this post for myself as a hard lesson learned.

Andy has had to work A LOT lately in order to make ends meet. Meaning he leaves most mornings at 7:00am to work his regular jobs and then goes straight to his side jobs and doesn't come home until 10/11:00pm. Then turns around and works on Saturday's as well. So we have very little time to be together. Long story short, something happened and I ended up disappointed that he broke a promise it ruined the whole weekend. I was furious the rest of the time, and determined not to talk to him because if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all right?!? Sunday night I get home and there are these Tulips sitting on our front porch. I had no idea where they came from and at that point I didn't care. They looked like they were half dead anyway. Monday morning rolled around and there on the front porch still sat these pink Tulips. When Heidi (Andy's sister) came to pick up Logan for the day I told her I didn't know where those came from, and we both laughed about it these half dead Tulips just sitting there. Well, Andy and I went our separate ways to work (still not really speaking) After a long day at work I pulled in the garage, out of the corner of my eye I saw those Tulips still sitting there. Finally I swallowed my pride and asked Andy when he got home if he knew what those were doing just sitting there out in the cold. He looked at the ground and quietly said, "They were for you. I bought them to give to you, but you've been so mad at me all weekend. So I just left them on the porch."
My heart sunk, and I felt really sad. I thought about what a nice surprise it would have been to get those Sunday morning, and how excited Andy gets whenever he has a surprise for me. And earlier that morning I had laughed at the wilted frozen flowers that were for ME. But because I let my frustrations and disappointments get the best of me, I ruined a beautiful Tulip surprise. I walked outside and brought in the sad looking flowers feeling just like they looked. All of them were wilted over the side frozen and in desperate need of water. Staring at them sitting on the counter I now felt ashamed for the way that we had been behaving. I gave them some water, and apologized to Andy and promised that I would try and not let the little things get the best of me anymore.
Now that things are back to normal, and my Tulips have been saved, I will always remember this little lesson I learned. Be slow to anger, and don't sweat the small stuff.
To me these Tulips are like our little Love Fern!"

11 Months, 1 more to GO!!!

This morning I woke up at 4:00 in a slight panic..."Oh my gosh!" As I sat straight up out of bed. Andy sits up too wondering what is on fire, "What's the matter?!?!" he says. Trying not to laugh I respond, "Logan turned 11 months yesterday, that means today I have less than a month to plan his birthday party!" He rolls his eyes and says, "Go back to sleep!"

Yes, you heard me right, Logan is 11 months old!!! All I have to say to that is What THE...?!?!?

Everyday is such a new adventure with him. Everyday it's into something new, or doing something that I've never seen or heard before...I LOVE IT!!!
Lately his favorite spot to sit and play is on my treadmill, with it turned off of course. Logan playing on this, has been my excuse for not using it...yeah that excuse isn't going to last that long I know :) He's playing on it right now as I'm doing this.
Logan and Oakley have become BEST buds. The two of them together really cracks me up!

The last little bit we have had a lot of little piggies out and about. He gets this from his dad. Shoes...HISTORY Socks...Not a chance! In the car, they are off. The second he gets in the door, before his coat is even off...there go the socks!

Everyday...this is going on somewhere in the house. But at least he always leaves them all together so they don't get lost :S

He LOVES laying on the floor on his back, kicking his legs, and waving his arms around. He will laugh forever doing this...he used to do this when he was little, but hasn't done it for a while. I guess he forgot how cool it was to do this! Because everyday for the last month he's been doing this again. It's hysterical!

Bath-time! A wonderful past time. He will go stand or sit in the bathroom until I put him in the tub. Last night he sat in there for 20 minutes laying on his back, and cried like the dickens when I picked him up and took him out. So I put him in the tub and he was happy as can be. I guess everybody likes being clean...

Again with the dog...best buddies. I am really thankful though that they get along so well. Because not all dogs like kids/babies as we are finding out. They will entertain each other for hours, and play like crazy!
Of course until someone gets hurt!

LOGAN- we love you so much! These last 11 months have been the best of my life, and we look forward to many, many more. Love you chunky monkey!

It's my PaRtY...I'll cry if I want to!

My birthday was January 9th, and it was the best ever! I only wanted to cry at the end becuase it was over. The day went by at lightening speed! I woke up thinking "27...that's old! I wonder if I could still pass as 25?" Andy let me sleep in, and I went downstairs to a Creight paper and balloon filled room! I was shocked and excited, it was so cute of him to decorate just for me! We went to Paradise Bakery for a wonderful lunch with family and friends. So many people came it was awesome! Then did a little shopping, but was not successful...oh well!
Andy then took me to The Roof Restaurant down town. It was FaBuLous! I love that place. The food was great like always, and it was so fun to have some one on one time with my guy. We left and headed home...only to be welcomed by some close friends....Andy had secretly invited them over for dessert!
Natalie, Jill, Me, Amy, Candice, and Rachel
My favorite kind of cake, chocolate with chocolate frosting...yum!!!
Candice, Tom, Adam and Jill

Even Logan got to stay up a little later to party with us!
We played Rock Band all night, Andy on the drums, Brig was an awesome rocker he even sang some songs with an Australian accent, and Chad killed it on the guitar. It was hysterical! We partied until 1:00 am, that's way past my bedtime, I am 27 now you know!

I didn't take near enough pictures! Thank you everyone for making this the best birthday ever! Thanks Andy for all the time and effort you put into making sure it was a success, and one that I will never forget. I love you forever and ever!

Sweet 28, yeah Baby!

Andy's Birthday was January 5th, and it is a special day. He shares his birthday with his 3 sister's (they are quadruplets) and every year it gets funner and funner
He is such an amazing guy, every day he surprises me more and more with how loving and kind he is to others. I am not ashamed to say that he definitely is the 'better half.'
Yummiest Birthday cake ever, thanks Ash for the recipe

Even Logan got a taste or two!I tried to convince Andy to take the day off work, but he didn't listen to me. So we both worked all day, then grabbed a quick dinner, and headed to the Draper Temple. Our ward was doing a special session so we went and did that. It was a really different, and amazing experience.
We love you Andy, you are the best husband and dad. I love watching you play with Logan and teach him things. It's no wonder he says 'dada' all the time!
I love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow!

Christmas time!

Well better late than never right?!?!
So just a quick re-cap of our Christmas week.

We went with the Welch's to a Christmas sing-a-long...it was crazy crowded, but the company was all that mattered!
Logan, Andy, Tenille, Trent, Laura, Travis, and sweet Sadie
Rylee and me...it was so FREeZiNG!!! that nightChristmas Eve we split time between our two families. It was so much fun this year with cousins on both sides so close in age with Logan. New Christmas jammies, bubble wrap and toys...he was up all night!
Then Christmas morning just snuck up right on us. Logan loved all of his toys! It was so fun to watch him get excited over the wrapping paper.
Off to Christmas parties...we had 4 to get to throughout the day! We started out real happy
Logan almost liked Oakley's toys more than his own!
It was such a great day. So much family, and fun, and laughter all smashed into one day. I just wish that it lasted a little bit longer!
